Cid wrote:After that got handled, Senator Stormpike reported that the convict he brought to the last session is nowhere to be found, despite a thorough search by the guards. There is a large sum missing still from the treasury, but it would seem the guards have a lead to the thief's hideout and have asked for Senator Stormpike's presence there. The resulting action lead to the finding of 1783 gold pieces, 67 silver coins and 83 copper pieces being recovered from the hideout, thus lessening the amount missing to roughly 6400 gold. Also accounting for some miscalculations whereas some of the gold has been spent legitimally, roughly 1500 gold, which brings down the missing gold to 4863 golden coins, rounded up.
He also suggested a pinitive expedition to find and deal with the remaining criminals involved in this crime against the Mountain, to which another senator agreed to.

Speaking from the point of view of someone trying to get Thief RP up and running, I'm really interested in this.  Is there a PC or group of them perpetrating these crimes?

Think it be imaginary characters thus far, though Gimlivier brought his RL cousin to play the role of a criminal at some earlier session (which I missed, unfortunately). If you wish to get involved somehow, contact him about it ingame and see what comes from it (or on Discord, he has an account there too.)

Written on the 27th of October by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Stormpike

Senate started as usual at 20.00 Ironforge time.
The delayed arrival of senators lead to us opening with the free word, and Skarain Feirand were the first to speak.
She mentions that she have been unable to reach Senator Lightbang, but have been speaking with Stormwinds minister of foreign affairs, Maelmoor Lightbringer, about things. Topics such as obeying Alliance laws when treading their lands were spoken of and handled, allowing the Azure Flame to walk the lands undisturbed as long as they follow the law.

After much delay, Senator Stormpike arrived to hand in his report.
He mentions that a gnome, Archinie, is still on the loose evading capture. The campaign for a royal loan has been approved and should begin soon. He have already recieved plenty of donations from citizens around the nation for the campaign, which haven't been counted yet.
He also reported that sightings have been confirmed of the culprits stealing gold from the royal treasury. They have been sighted in Stormheim, spending the gold to buy the loyalties of Vrykul in the area to fight against our cause.

Senator Stormpike is preparing the expedition there to handle the theft and those involved with it, but he need more intelligence before moving in. He wonders if anyone would happen to have any useful intelligence regarding the area to tell him. I suggested that Gilneas might have something of use due to them establishing footholds in the area and he will make the contacts required to hear from them about it.

After the report, the meeting got concluded roughly thirty minutes after start. May the Titans guide our path always.

Written on the 3rd of November by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
None.
Assistant Duskblade

Senate started as usual at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
Due to lack of senators, we started with the free word. The first one to raise a topic was Rorik Blackforge, who wished to know what has happened with the investigations of the two dwarves that jumped into the Great Forge. The investigations have been on a standstill since we lack the senators who were supposed to do the job. Another visitor, Kazdum, came with more questions about why the senators are missing.
Their absence is starting to hamper the Senate meetings, and we will be forced to hand them the slip if they do not show the next week. That statement was met with applause from the audience, as they demand action, not words, to come from these meetings.

Rorik Blackforge had one more topic to come up with. He is offering what he calls 'friendly information', to which I questioned him what that might be. Apparantly, according to his information, Stormwind is starting to lack grain, due to Westfall farming being in disarray since at least a month back. He suggests that we supply them with grain in return for cash, to which I replied that we will aid them with what we can, selling grain for standard rates instead of using the hungry populace to raise the prices.

Steyen Duskblade arrived after quite the delay, answering 'Ebon Blade business' when asked what kept him. He immedietly got involved with the topics raised earlier regarding the investigations under Seat of Order, since he is her assistant. Harsh words started flying shortly after, from both assistant and audience, requiring me to intervene and bring order in the hall. I ordered assistant Duskblade to check with the guards about what has been done regarding investigations, and I will try my hand at forming some form of intelligence unit.

Assistant Duskblade had no news from Aerie Peak to come with for the meeting, further probing need to be done before anything certain can be discussed. I discussed with him about coming along for the trip, or sending a representative of my clan to come along.

With that we ended the meeting at 20.55, quite a good meeting in my opinion with good questions and topics raised. May the Titans keep guiding us in these times.

Written on the 10th of October by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Felha
Senator Stormpike
Assistant Duskblade

Senate starting as usual at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
Senator Felha reports that the struggle on the Broken Isles continues as before, no change of the situation there so far. Senator Stormpike asks where her efforts are being concentrated at on said Isles. She replies with the name of some regions where the resistance is the greatest, and that they fight skirmishes since there isn't a full scale war going on at either location just yet.

Senator Stormpike reports that the financial campaign to fund the expedition to Stormheim is going well. According to the senator, several public authorities as well as private patrons have been buying treasure bonds, thus contributing to the funding. He will disclose a date and route for the event later on.
He sum up the gathered about from the fundraiser to around twelvehundred gold, he have also talked with High Tinker Mekkatorque about lending him another fivehundred gold as well as negotiating some of the human kingdoms to lend him another threehundred and fifty gold. Along with my personal contribution, the gold amassed goes up to twentyone-hundred and thirtynine gold pieces.
Preparations for the expedition will begin immedietly after the meeting, gathering cartographers and archaeologists to plan the route ahead.

Assistant Duskblade arrived late, and Senator Stormpike requested that we start recruiting new senators to fill the vacant seats, to which we all agreed.

Duskblade reported that he had no success finding out why those two dwarves jumped into the Great Forge some time ago. He will interview the guard captain about this matter when he return from the Broken Isles.

After sorting through my documents, I found a letter from one of our volunteer troops at Hearthglen, who request reinforcements to aid the farmers against Horde raids. Senator Felha will look into this matter, and she keeps the letter around.

After the reports, the word got free, but no topics were raised. Thus we concluded the meeting after roughly fortyfive minutes. May the Titans guide our path always.

Written on the 17th of November by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Stormpike
Assistant Duskblade

Senate starting per schedule at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
Senator Stormpike reports that loans are abounding, but the rate is slowing down. He also discussed monetary assets and troop movements with the Gilnean and Stormwind representatives, who have requested of him to not disclose any numbers or locations yet to the public. Lists will be presented to the senators and assistants of the Senate.

The Worgen seem very keen at helping us, and due to their close ties with the Night Elves they have managed to raise interest from Darnassus for the expedition. We are now closer than ever to achieving the requested budget and Senator Stormpike gives his thanks to the generous and brave people of the Alliance for that.

Assistant Duskblade reports that he have contacted both the Ninth Company along with a captain of the Ironforge Guards. Speaking first of the Ninth Company, he reports that they are moving in the Plaguelands around half past nine, if the intel is correct. Intel reports there are Horde members in the area, although likely to be raiders more than an organized force. He has also been talking with the guard captain regarding the situation in Ironforge, resulting in that they will sort out the guardforce.

After that, the word got free, but due to lack of visitors we decided to end the meeting on an early note. May the Titans guide our path always.

Written on the 24th of November by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Stormpike
Assistant Duskblade

Senate starting as usual at 20.00 local ironforge time.
Senator Stormpike mentions that the joint adventure to the foreign region of Stormheim by Khaz Modan and the League of Explorers will not be military in essence, but that it will entail punitive retaliation against the thieves and their allies, who robbed the coffers of the Mountain for their own gain. The team will be composed of archaeologists, mountaineers and silent infiltrators mainly.

A discussion then erupted regarding a theory of the Burning Legion being involved in the theft somehow, but after senator Stormpike repeated that part of the stolen currencies has been used to bribe local vrykul populations. After that, he said that the expedition will head somewhere in the northeastern region of Stormheim, but exact location will be kept secret due to the public nature of the meeting.
A human visitor named Reynard Ferrand raised a hand and said he'd offer his services in this venture. Senator Stormpike seems pleased with this offer, and asked him to meet up after the meeting. The topic then turned to matters of logistics, either going by portal or ship to the Broken Isle to set up properly.

Assistant Duskblade asked if geists could be of any use for the Stormheim endeavour, seeing as they are somewhat stealthy. They do however require a death knight to come along to properly control them, discussions will follow regarding whom to send along for such travels.

After that, Assistant Duskblade reported that he has news from the north. According to the information recieved, some of the fighting have calmed down with the disbanding of the Mor'shan Marauders. As he had no further news aside from that, we moved on to the free word. Seeing as no hands or topics were raised, we decided to conclude the meeting after roughly one hour.

May the Titans guide our path.

I'd love to know what happened here?  Was this an RP'ed event?  Did someone RP breaking into the coffers or was this something which the Senate "made up" as something which happened?

Reynard (the Jack of Diamonds) was in the Senate Meeting when this was mentioned so his ears metaphorically pricked up and he's put some feelers out to gather information on what happened...

As far as I know, it wasn't roleplayed out. Gimlivier did have a 'villain' along (his RL cousin) which he questioned a bit, but the villain got away from the guards somehow if I recall it right. But the actual event itself wasn't played out. This damned sickness is making a mess of my thoughts atm, forgive me for not being clearer.

That is what it appeared to be to my memory also, which let's be honest is just a damn waste of time. I mean come on, if you're gonna come up with this elaborate storyline (forgetting how questionable the amount of gold was IC) at least try to make an event out of it!

I need not remind you that I am not the mind behind the plot here, nor do all members of CoKM go here to read this forum. While I agree to some extent that some things should've been roleplayed out, like the theft, I believe that the way he organize it, it might work better for him.
Sure enough, I can advice him to roleplay things in the future, but that's about all I can do without hampering things in an already hampered Senate. As for the numbers, he gave a satisfactory explanation as to why the numbers initially were so large but later on retconned (if ever so slightly). Lets move out of this thread if we are to keep discussing this, as it isn't really the proper place to do so.

Reports:
Sorry for the lack of reports lately, but the Senate have had issues getting its strength together for both a proper meeting and writing reports. We are currently trying to recruit new blood for the vacant seats so the meetings can be a bit more lively again.

Written on the 15th of December by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Felha
Senator Stormpike

Senate starting as usual at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
Senator Felha had nothing to report, although we brought up the topic about the lawbook needing an update considering the current laws are rather restrictive regarding Death Knights. In fact, it has been entirely overlooked that according to the current laws, Assistant Duskblade shouldn't even be in the Senate at all, unless these laws are adjusted. A future discussion regarding the laws will take place after the New Year celebrations, when we start holding meetings again.

Senator Stormpike reports that the operation called 'Green Thunder' is afoot and that the expedition force to Stormheim will travel from Stormwind in roughly three weeks time. He will reveal more details at the next Senate meeting, which will be on the first thursday after New Year.

After that, I announced that the Senate is planning some form of celebration party for Winter Veil, and that we would like to get some more ideas for what could be fun for people to do. One suggestion involved visiting Drek'thar in Alterac Valley in true dwarven spirit... and blowing him skyhigh. We consider saving that for New Years Eve. Sir Hutchins offered his assistance with planning the event, as we did together with Brewfest. His offer got accepted, as he is a valuable team member.

Next to raise a hand was Webbles Boozeboat, who wished to know when the event is to be held. Sir Hutchins suggested the week after the next, giving us enough time to plan and prepare the event properly. We will send out invitations when things are set in motion.

After that, the word got free, and the first to raise a hand was sir Hutchins, who offered his assistance to the lawmaking office, which senator Felha accepted. Senator Stormpike wished to add one last thing before concluding the meeting. He mentioned that two seats are available to apply for and that people should do so.

With that said and done, we concluded the meeting and wished everyone attending a merry Winter Veil. May the Titans guide our steps as we close in on the end of the old year, and into the beginning of the next.

Re: •IC• Report Archives

Post by Cid on Thu Jan 05, 2017 1:10 pm

Written on the 5th of January by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Stormpike
Assistant Duskblade

Senate start at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
Steyen Duskblade begin his report by mentioning how he's been at work with the Khaz Modan lawbook, suggesting adjustments to laws to make for easier mobility for his people, as he phrased it. The topic then shifted about who's responsibility it would be if a summoned minion of a death knight were to cause harm of any kind upon a citizen or visitor in the lands of Khaz Modan.
A visitor, sir Hutchins, raised his opinion that the Death Knight who summoned the minion should be responsible for the minion's acts, to which people in the room agreed.
As assistant Duskblade continued regarding the lawbook, sir Hutchins rose another question as to why the Knights would need Death Chargers within the city, considering the locations are easy to get to. It is a logical point, considering that a Death Charger is a warmount and not a mount for everyday purposes. The topic then shifted from the mounts to the iconic weapons of a Death Knight: The runeblades.
Senator Stormpike puts forth heavy arguments for keeping runeblades out of the populace eyes or even the city borders as such. Duskblade then asked if all runeblades would need screening, to which Stormpike retorted with that all Death Knights should be screened, for the safety of the citizens of Khaz Modan. Arguments flew back and forth for some time before coming down to a general consensus, that Death Knights are to carry their blades in black cases to hide them from plain sight, but still be available should they have a need to defend themselves. Duskblade left a copy of his adjusted lawbook for the Senate to study, and suggested that we read, discuss and vote upon the topic next meeting. With that said and done, we moved along to Senator Stormpikes report.

Senator Stormpike reports that Operation Green Thunder will commence, leaving Stormwind Harbour heading towards Stormheim. The recovery of large sums of gold, artifacts, riches and currencies is the reason for the expedition. Archaeologists, marksmen and secret forces will soon retaliate against the culprits of espionage, impersonation, theft and betrayal to the Crown, who opportunistically pried the taxes of our citizens and findings of our researchers. Any citizen from Khaz Modan can apply fer a share of any bounty exceeding the planned payback for the trip.

With that said, we moved on to the free word, and the first to raise a topic was a visitor named Elwood, who wished to know the time for departure for the expedition. Senator Stormpike replied that the times will be kept secret, but all serious applicants will need to come to his office after the meeting.

Sir Hutchins raised the topic of the law regarding Death Knights to be allowed within Ironforge, and that it should be suspended for the time being while the discussion regarding laws are up. With that, we voted 'Aye' and finished the meeting after roughly one hour.

May the Titans guide us on this path.

A copy of the prospective changes to the lawbook can be found. Most of the laws seem to be the same, however there seem to be sufficient changes to one section;
3. Arcane and shadow magic
3.a. All users of the arcane may only use destructive magics in self defence.
3.b. The practice of felmagic is forbidden within the lands of Khaz'Modan. Including, but not limited to: the summoning of demons for any purpose, the summoning of demonic artifacts, offensive spells, defensive spells, rituals
3.c. The practice of Necromancy is forbidden within the lands of Khaz'Modan. Including, but not limited to: the reanimation of the dead, the summoning of the undead, summoning of necromantic artifacts, offensive spells, defensive spells, rituals
3.d. The practise of Shadow magic is forbidden within the lands of Khaz'Modan. Including, but not limited to: Shadowform, offensive spells, defensive spells, rituals, ceremonies
3.e. No items of fel, necromantic or shadow origins may be brought into the realm of the King, all such items will be considered illegal property. Including, but not limited to: demonic stones, infernal figurines
3.f. Any kind of undead beings are banned from the realm of Khaz'Modan, including but not limited to: Ghouls, Undead, Abominations and Death Knights of non-Alliance origin. Any undead creature (except those of Alliance origin) are to be put to the axe and burned.
3.f.a. Death Knights affiliated with the Allies of Ironforge may visit the realm of Khaz'Modan, but must officially announce their presence to the authorities of Ironforge.
3.g. Failure to obey these laws may will be severly punished. Including but not limited to: imprisonment, fines, death.
3.h. Any crimes commited by a citizen or visitor of Khaz'Modan will have their case judged by the Tribunal of Sages.

Written on the 12th of January by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Stormpike
Assistant Duskblade

Senate starting as scheduled at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
Senator Stormpike reports that Operation Green Thunder has been launched, but that it has met with some hardships. The scouts were lost at sea, thus unable to report back in time before the second ship started its journey. The second ship suffered through a potent storm, causing it to shipwreck off the coast of Stormheim. Although the loss of life is regrettable, the equipment made it through mostly unscathed and could be salvaged. The expedition then could find shelter from the elements at an Explorers' League outpost in the area, managed by a Sir Finley Murgleton (I cannot spell the true name properly, sorry to say).
As time went on at Dreyrgrot, the location the expedition landed at, they found a Gilnean encampment and plenty of archaeological findings to handle. They managed to send letters to Dalaran and Acherus, requesting to join forces in the near future and later on move out from Greywatch.

Assistant Duskblade mentions the lawbook, and more specifically the changes to the part where Death Knights are concerned. I replied to his request to change the laws with that the changes might be too much for the populace to handle, thus we have to decline them. As arguments started to fly back and forth, a hand got raised by Azapha Hutchins who voiced her opinion that the use of magics are not necessary as a civilian or in her profession, hence she can move freely. The city is no place for such magics that she can wield, so why are Death Knights to be excused?

Assistant Duskblade at that point insulted visitors to protect his argument, to which the Senate cannot abide. He got warned about his behaviour and to argue in a proper manner or be excused from the table. The topic changed to the mounts of the Ebon Knights, the deathchargers, to which there was much heated debate about if summoning those is necromancy, seeing as they are undead as well as ghouls and abominations. Assistant Duskblade argues with visitors Azapha and Sir Sebastian Hutchins regarding those, Azapha wondering what the difference would be if she summoned her dreadsteed to ride through the city, aside from it being a mount of fel origin.

After much argumentation from both sides of the discussion, there is an agreement to the fact that there is a logical reason for the laws to mostly remain as they are regarding runeblades and deathchargers. After much more heated debate, we voted to allow Death Knights to legitimally carry their blades, but hidden from plain sight by putting cloth over them or putting the blades in a case. The difference between this vote and the last we had about the topic, is to make this change a more permanent one. A total unison voted for allowing them to carry their blades, and thus we moved on to the free word.

The first visitor to raise a hand was a dwarven mountaineer, who wished to know if some rumours going through the city are true, that the Hinterlands are under threat from Horde incursions. Assistant Duskblade could confirm the validity of the rumours, and we decided to send a regiment up to aid the Wildhammers defend their homeland.

After that, no other topics arose, thus we concluded the meeting after over one and a half hour. May the Titans guide our path.

Written on the 19th of January by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Stormpike

Senate starting as usual at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
Senator Stormpike reports that there has been quite a few findings to account for, among them a tomb of Titan making said to be the last resting place of Aggramar, the Titan Champion! Sadly the site was occupied by hostile vrykul, who by the look of things are allied with the Legion. This is a serious matter, as they are plundering the tomb for what worth it has. However, it seems they have been driven off for now, but their camp nearby the Vault of Aggramar need to be taken care of to prevent further desecration of the site. Further details regarding the plans are classified for now, to prevent intel seeping out to potential enemies located in the area.

Discussing how to procure the artifacts at the site without harming them turned to be harder than expected. The local population would rather see the artifacts destroyed than in our hands, thus things can get rather ugly if we try to move them. Azapha Hutchins suggested a method however that might work for our needs, however she would wish to get permission to use it before actually doing so, due to the device's nature. Seeing it either need a mage on either end of said device to properly function, or powered by soul shards, it certainly was a hot potatoe in terms of topic. However, seeing as it can work with demonic soul shards, it is a good opportunity to both strike at the enemy and transport artifacts under their noses. If powered by soul shards, the device does not even need to be inside the city to get the relics and artifacts through safely.

Moving on to another topic, after receiving reports from up north regarding the battles in Lordaeron and the areas around it, I mentioned that the defense of a forward outpost in the Ruins of Alterac have managed to hold the lines against the Horde onslaught. However, the Blood elf presence in the Hinterlands keep bothering us, thus we suggest to send up more reinforcements to dispatch of those while we maintain our hold on Alterac. Senator Stormpike pledge his clans aid to the defenders of Aerie Peak, and I pledged to give what support I can from clan Blackforge.

After that was said and done, we concluded the meeting after roughly one hour. May the Titans bless the path we take.

Senate started as usual at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
I opened the meeting by announcing we have an application for Seat of the Divine, Azapha Hutchins, who in her letter of introduction seem more than able to aid the Senate with magical matters. A thorough questioning of her merits followed, and Assistant Steyen Duskblade asked the first questions.
First he asked about an incident roughly a year ago where dwarven authorities escorted mrs Hutchins to the House of Yore, due to the previous Seat of War Bavragor Stormpike blackmailed her due to having in his possession an illegal item he procured from her in one way or another (said senator later on was fired for not being trustworthy enough for his office).
Second question from Duskblade were about her temper, as he wondered if she were able to keep her cool in pressed situations. The question was asked due to an incident where mrs Hutchins had to be escorted out of a councilmeeting. She replied to the questions in a calm and orderly manner, quoting "Azapha has been blackmailed, under murder attempts and banished demons powerful enough to make most people here feel cold just to think about, and you are talking about pressure?"
Steyen justified his questions with what he state to have been a "heated" debate, to which mrs Hutchins replied that there had been no heated debate, just the fact that she had pointed out flaws in arguments that he had made. After that, Senator Stormpike asked mrs Hutchins why she keep referring to herself in third person. As this question had no real merit, mrs Hutchins had the right to decline answering it for now. After the questioning was done, we voted, and with two votes for and one against, we welcomed mrs Hutchins to the table as Seat of the Divine.

We then carried on with the reports. Steyen wished to discuss the use of Deathchargers within the Kingdom, we stated that there are mechanical mounts available for travelling within the lands, thus they can be used to not scare the populace.
Senator Stormpike reported that the ongoing punitive expedition in Stormheim are now targetting the vrykul under a God-King Skovald, who have been confirmed to be allied with the Burning Legion. As he and his allies are a threat, it makes sense for the union of Three Hammers to build up a presence there in form of bases, to secure Stormheim for the Alliance.
Senator Hutchins asked senator Stormpike if the artifacts the expedition brought back last time were of any use, to which he replied that some were, but sadly some others have been tainted by dark magics. However, roughly 3 quarters of the findings were untainted, but they need to be handled with care, unless we might get into trouble with something we cannot cure.

As time was beginning to run short, we had to cut the report short however, and let the word get free. The only one to raise a topic was Lord Maelmoor Lightbringer, who wished to inform us that there will be a Lunar festival celebration in the Moonglade Wednesday next week, the first of February.

Assistant Duskblade informed us that this will be his last meeting, as the Ebon Blade business is taking up more and more time on his account, thus he resigned his position and wished us well, after giving his people the liberty they required, as he stated it.

After that, no other topics were raised, so we concluded the meeting after roughly one and a half hours. May the Titans guide our path.

Attendance list:
Senator Stormpike
Senator Hutchins

Senate started per schedule at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
I opened the meeting by announcing that we have 3 vacant seats as of today, what with the absence of Senator Felha and Senator Lightbang being so long. As we need efficiency, those offices have been cleared out and open for applications. After that, we continued with reports.

Senator Stormpike reports that Operation Green Thunder is a success and coming to a quick close. Having retrieved what he estimates is worth over fifteen thousand golden coins in currency, treasures, magical items from plunder and presents from our new allies. He shall leave early tonight in order to advance on the counting and estimating the total worth of the spoils of war in order to give back the stolen money to the coffers of Ironforge, the borrowed money for the budget to the stakeholders and reparations for the families of our deceased comrades in the process.
Whatever net profit that will have been achieved will be evenly redistributed between bond holders of the Public Loan. The bond holders can come once a year to claim interest on their investment, provided they present them to the Seat of Artifacts. Cashing out is another option.

Senator Hutchins inquired about some of the artifacts left behind, if they were buried again. Senator Stormpike replied that they have not been included in the total worth of the operation bounty, for their true merchant value cannot be asserted as of today. He deem them too dangerous for that, too. Thus they have been stored in a containment vault on holy ground to better ensure they do not fall into the wrong hands. Senator Hutchins will be informed fully about the details later.

Senator Stormpike carried on his report by mentioning that we have established wonderful diplomatic relationships with the great Titan Watcher Odyn, Lord of the Halls of Valor and the Vrykul tribe of the Valarjar. Thanks to our brave warriors, we have now a legitimate claim to a settlement in Stormheim. More news about the securing of the land from remaining forces loyal to the false God-King Skovald's memory and the Horde will be reported in the upcoming sessions.

Senator Hutchins mentions in her report that she has studied some of the artifacts retrieved from the Stormheim expedition, many of them are as Senator Stormpike said, but others are showing some oddities. Some of them clearly require some form of Key, and our understanding of how it works is very limited without their other components. Senator Hutchins has her speculations that many of them are trivial, but some of them are promising to maybe be much more. She was considering a second hunt for clues if we wish to understand more of how these work. A second expedition might be needed, since this would be more focused on finding more parts that may give us answers to the puzzle the artifacts currently present.
She has considered if we could find other titan forged items that could also give us some answers , by next week she plans to have more to show for it, a planned expedition rather than just a plan. This was mostly just her finding over this week as much of her time has been spent studying these and trying to understand there workings.

Senator Hutchins had another topic she wished to bring up, a little less important but she has become more than a little aware that a number of people have found her current title.... misleading and mistaken her for the leader of some religious order. She thinks considering her occupation and study some may find her title a bit of a insult to the meaning. She has studied the light but she is not a overly religious person, thus another name of the seat might be in order, perhaps call it Senator of Magical Affairs?

As we pondered about it, it made sense to call it such, as it does cover more schools of magic without sounding over the top zealous. The rename got accepted, and we will adjust the title name over the week. With that said and done, we moved on to the free word.

The first to raise a hand was an elven visitor who inquired if the naming of a title is all that important for an official working with magic. We had however agreed that Divine sounded a bit too much, when it is majorly a seat which studies the various schools of magic, along them the Light. Satisfied with the response, the visitor resumed watching the gathering.

With no further questions, we concluded the meeting after about 45 minutes. May the Titans keep watching over us, always.

Re: •IC• Report Archives

Post by Cid on Thu Feb 09, 2017 1:40 pm

Written on the 9th of February by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Stormpike
Senator Hutchins

Senate starting as usual at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
Senator Hutchins would like to continue from where we left off last week with the findings of the relics with unknown properties as we have only recovered parts of the devices. She intend on making a fully planned expedition as one or two of the items could prove to be incredible discoveries if we discovered their full capabilities. Senator Hutchins has noted from reports there is another broken off Isle north of the main continent of the broken shores, one which so far has been suggested to be very hostile.
However, it appears that the same reports state that there is also tombs on the island, making it an interesting site to visit. Senator Stormpike wished to address watcher Odyn about the island, but senator Hutchins reminded him that the watcher is likely more busy with more important matters, what with the Legion invading the Broken Isles. For now, both senators have agreed that a scouting force is required to be sent to the island, before we make any hasty decisions.

Senator Hutchins also had a request to make, as she asked for permission to bring in a variety of items upon a list she handed to the Senate. As a number of the items are illegal to have within the city, we at first didn't want to let the items into the city at all, but senator Stormpike suggested that there could be two locations to be used. Seeing as Senator Hutchins is familiar with portals, she can set up a portal leading to a secure storing facility while the portal entrance is guarded by trustworthy troops.

After that, Senator Stormpike began his report. He'd like to start with mighty thanks to anyone who made Operation Green Thunder possible. Senators, archaeologists, footmen, mountaineers, shadow fighters, pecuniary contributors, clerics and informants. All alike, you have worked towards a brighter future for the citizens of Khaz Modan, the wealth of our State and the reputation of the Alliance. Out of economic orthodoxy, I am hereby stating that we shan't issue any more treasure bonds because it could lead to speculative galore as some goblins have reportedly demonstrated in their cities.

With that done, I announced that we had an application for the Seat of Order. Sir Sebastian Hutchins applied for the Seat, telling a story about how he had fought alongside dwarves and gnomes when the Legion invaded the lands, and how he wished to give something in return. A whiteclad mountaineer asked however where sir Hutchins was at when the dwarves fought in Alterac Valley or Aerie Peak, against the Forsaken and the Blood Elves.

Sir Hutchins replied that he understand perfectly that Ironforge has supplied reinforcements to this engagement but until he hears of the Horde gaining any form of momentum, he believe the Legion to be the more important threat not only to these lands but the entire world. The mountaineer then asked "What do you, if at all, plan to do with the situation up there?", to which sir Hutchins answered with:
If he was to be granted the seat of order, then he would evaluate the offcial reports that have been coming back to Ironforge in regards to the situation. Obviously he haven't been able to read these in his current situation. He would evaluate the urgency of the situation in the north and react accordingly. If indeed what he have heard currently is proven false by the offical notes, then he should not only seek to increase the war effort there but visit the front himself and fight alongside our forces.

Senator Stormpike then wished to ask two questions to the applicant. First of all, what do sir Hutchins think of the Stormpike Clan's presence in Alterac Valley, and the Frostwolf Orcs living there? Sir Hutchins replied that the Frostwolves are invaders, they do not belong in the Valley and in his view should be, at least, pushed out of the mountains. He'd hope for more than that, however.
Stormpike's second question was "What does 'Order' mean to you?" and sir Hutchins answered "Order to me means progress, it means peace and it means a society can press on to greater economical, technological and magical feats. Order is the backbone of any great civilisation". Satisfied with those answers, Senator Stormpike had nothing further to ask.

We then moved on with the vote for the approval of sir Hutchins application. Senator Hutchins abstained since she is related to the applicant, but with two votes for the approval of the application he was accepted. Senator Stormpike then requested the word, and he mentioned how he personally is advocating fer more Seats being proposed to Dwarves and Gnomes. But since it appears that not many of them are interested in such charges, that Gilneans have proved to be a much-needed cement between Elves and Humans, and the Alliance in general these days. And adding to it the fact that you two (note: Hutchins are married, thus mentioning the two of them) are powerful, knowledgeable and apparently deeply concerned with the well-being of our people. Senator Stormpike was genuinely sincere when he voted in favor of their applications. Sir Hutchins thanked senator Stormpike for his kind words.

After that, we decided to conclude the meeting due to the hour running late. May the Titans watch over us always.

Re: •IC• Report Archives

Post by Cid on Thu Feb 16, 2017 12:55 pm

Written on the 16th of February by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Stormpike
Senator A. Kaylock
Senator S. Hutchins

Senate starting as scheduled at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
We began by mentioning how we address Senator Azapha Hutchins, and she suggested using her family name, Kaylock, to prevent confusion between the two Hutchins. Thus she will be known as such throughout the reports henceforth.

Senator Kaylock mentions that she has a few things this week. Firstly she would like to arrange for a scouting mission to the land now known as Shields Rest, we have discussed this over some weeks and she thinks it is time to begin acting on it. Last week we mentioned a scouting mission and senator Kaylock thinks the opportunity may be wasted if we take too long debating going there. She do however lack the resources to scout out the site herself and believes a number of the mountaineers who she has seen working there before would be most efficient. Because of the situation on the Broken Isles, senator Kaylock believes it is likely we will cross ether demonic forces or other forces that may be hostile as it is still a war zone, thus volunteers are needed.

The second topic senator Kaylock raised was about a portal system to be used for some of her collection of magical artifacts. Senator Stormpike verified that a secure vault has been dug out and constructed for that purpose. The portal would be one of the attributions of a Senator. It has to be inside the city, but the location of the vault is to remain a secret to the public, least it might suffer intrusion. After that was handled, we moved on to senator Hutchins.

Senator Hutchins began his report by mentioning that he have spent the past week settling into the new role. At this point, all he can truly report, and confirm, is the state of things in the north. It appears the rumors have been true, although he suppose exaggerated as tends to happen.
The Horde have been quite properly routed, the last report we recieved details how the Blood Elves were seen falling back to Quel'Thalas, it seems at best, for them, they're falling back. At worst, but best for us, they're gasping and begging for breathing room, which our forces along with those of Stormwind have not been allowing them. After congratulations are sent to the respective units that were partaking in the campaign up north, we moved along with the reports.

Senator Stormpike has been pondering about further expeditions and investments, but it seems that the artifact frenzy has seized a great many powerful organizations recently. Senator Kaylock says that it is only to be expected, what with our findings and all. Senator Stormpike have heard reports from Stormwind asserting that the Deadwind Pass has seen more treasure seekers than ever these past few months, resulting in terrible deaths, most probably of demonic origin. He then asks if we have heard about the Last Guardian's residence, Karazhan.
The evil tower is brimming with dark powers still, and he admits that he shudder every time he hear of it, and thought of ordering an airstrike by our most skilled bombarding squad. It could release the evils contained by the thick walls of stone it's famous for. He have however thought of that solution as well.
The place is however not a part of Khaz Modan, but rather the Kingdom of Stormwind, he don't have much say in it without clearance from Stormwind. He will try to attend the Stormwind council one of the next few weeks in order to suggest we start thinking of an invasion strategy. But to move an army through their lands, we should at least ask for permission to do so.

After that was said and done, we moved on to the free word, but as no topics or questions were raised, we decided to conclude the meeting after roughly fifty minutes. May the Titans guide our path, always.

Re: •IC• Report Archives

Post by Cid on Thu Feb 23, 2017 1:46 pm

Written on the 22nd of February by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Hutchins
Senator Kaylock
Senator Stormpike

Senate starting as usual at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
Senator Kaylock had nothing to add to this week, preparations have been made on her end for travel as discussed last week.

Senator Stormpike mentions that he's been running out of ideas honestly. The situation is pretty straightforward. The Alliance and the Horde have rendered his work moot. SI:7 informants and from Kalimdor allies alike will not lend him any of their leads nor means. They seem actually busy. He have been made aware of the upcoming fate of Karazhan however, and our allies have discovered what he wasn't even expecting. Beneath the tower itself must be a chilling nest of demons! Not just ghosts and broken constructs.
Senator Kaylock's comments that it is most unfortunate news. Senator Stormpike believes however that we have enough troves of war right now. We must now exploit them however we can to provide our forces the best supply of knowledge and power to win this scary new war.

He then moves on to ask Senator Kaylock if she have had time to examine the findings thus far, and her general impression of the profitability of the artifacts. She has found some disturbing news on a number of the items that was originally taken away for belief of corruption by fel. A number of them was actually not afflicted by fel magic but rather void, the same kind of thing she would expect from old god magic.
Senator Stormpike reacted upon the news by reporting a dream he had. That he felt something as blood-freezing as the Legion, but scarier, because these were strange and intricate dreams. For the next month he will prepare the Library for an exhibition of harmless artifacts, and will get in contact with patrons and ideas with anyone remotely interested in archaeology.

Senator Hutchins have a couple of things to report. First, he is arranging for an expedition to scout out the island mentioned last week by Senator Kaylock, the one called Shield's Rest. As it is only intended on being a scouting mission, provisions should be a non-concern. We go there, we get a lay of the land, monitor any inhabitants and then get back to the mainland to head home. Provided there are no un-expected delays with gathering a handful of mountaineers and other scouting forces, arranging for boats and other such things, we should be able to commence the mission this Saturday.

In addition to that, Senator Hutchins have set in motion to arrange for supplies, rations and all the typical stuff for a military mission of sorts. He is not ready to share the details to the public yet, however if he encounter no delays with the preparation it should be ready to commence a week from Saturday.

With that said and done the word got free, and the first to raise a topic was a white-clad mountaineer who raised concerns regarding some of the Senate business, or more precisely, Senator Kaylock's portal to the protected vault of artifacts. Some citizens are worrying that this might cause another Dark Portal, leading the demons into the Mountain itself!

Senator Kaylock responds calmly that to even access the portal one must know how to use it, as its is not maintained to stay open , so to nearly everyone here, it is not an option to walk though anyway.

The mountaineer further asks if such a "risk" is necessary. It seems these days we have moved further and further from the traditional values of the dwarven people. The senates ruling have become increasingly "lenient", what with death knight beings seen with runeblades and masters of fel being allowed to have portals within city limits.

Senator Hutchins intervenes with that if you see any Death Knight openly wielding their Runeblades, he would suggest informing the nearest guard, as that is still illegal. They are allowed to carry their blades, as long as they are concealed and out of sight.

Senator Kaylock replies by asking if the law have become more lenient? As far as she is aware of, fel and shadow magic is still held in the same regards, demonic summonings forbidden and soulstones still are deemed illegal. In fact, right here right now she believes she is held to the same restrictions within these walls as she was when she first came here some years ago. Is that not still true? Senator Hutchins adds that the portal itself is not formed from a magic deemed illegal within Ironforge.

The rifleman claims that the dwarves have always persevered because they stuck together. Some citizens believe this progress to be happening too fast. Some would like to have more to say in these matters. Perhaps a more often people's vote would calm these whispers. As of right now the Senate only votes on all matters. Not to mention that two of the senators always present are not "natives" so to say.

Senator Hutchins mentions with all due respect, if it was not only recently that the Dwarven clans have "stuck together"? He remember when a Dark Iron seen in Ironforge was one being led to an execution.

The rifleman replies that it is foolish to say traditional values are not important to the dwarven people.

Senator Hutchins answers that by saying that tradition is important to the Dwarven people, this is quite well known and acknowledged. The Dark Iron Dwarves however have deep rooted traditions in things of a magical nature, including dark magics. Traditions differ. And in Ironforge in the current times, many traditions float around. We seek not to ignore any of them and shall do our best, obviously, to respect these. However, if Ironforge only sat on its traditions then this would not be the glorious nation it is. He would however rather not get into a debate of that nature, as it leads gravely off topic regarding the portal.

The rifleman carry on mentioning the citizens concerns, saying that Ironforge is home to many, the citizens are merely concerned more and more dark magics are being incorporated into the society without them having a say in it.

Senator Kaylock asks the rifleman what is it that makes this portal such a concern. If its some notion that its a portal to the twisting nether and demons crawl around the other side of that gate then the rifleman and other citizens are deeply mistaken.

Senator Hutchins adds in, that as Senator of Order he can share this. The location of the portal will remain known only to those who have been approved by the Senate, its use restricted to the Senator of Magical Affairs and those she deems truthworthy with it.

The rifleman raises more concerns, that the portal leads to a warehouse of sorts that houses objects that have to do with fel. They are unstable and volatile by nature. Masters of fel are few and far between in dwarven society...and so most view it with suspicion.

Senator Hutchins says that which is why access to the room the portal may be created within, is to be kept with the utmost secrecy and the persons he select to guard said room will be drawn only from those most trustworthy and trained in resisting and combating dark magics, fel and otherwise.

The rifleman seem to calm down after this response, as he cannot say he feel convinced or see the necessity for such a portal leading into a warehouse full of fel infused items. But he will oblige by the senates ruling. He merely wanted to bring up the concerns that have arisen in the city concerning this topic. He meant no offense to the intentions of the senate or any of the senators.

Senator Stormpike says that maybe a public announcement will rest their consciences, and we will see eye-to-eye on things.

Senator Hutchins says that the feelings are, of course, valid and understandable. However trust in us that we take this matter incredibly seriously, we have no intention for any of the artifacts that will be stored in said vault causing any harm to Ironforge and its citizens.

The rifleman then asks if it will be possible for the public to be more involved in voting for matters of special concern within the city, to which Senator Stormpike answers that aye, there is if the people would show up, for a start. An attendance of ten persons don't call for a vote that's supposed to reflect the actual opinion of the nation. The rifleman replies that it seems like a fair enough proposition that if enough citizens would attend then perhaps they would be allowed to vote as well.

Senator Hutchins says that voting may be a topic of debate for the future, however the voices of the citizens shall be heard regardless. That is, after all, one of the purposes of this meeting being public in the first place. For the public of Ironforge to air concerns to the Senate. He also add, with respect, that the rifleman and the citizens are asking for a huge change in tradition. This would need to be discussed in detail, rather than being given off the top of our heads.

Senator Stormpike also adds that an update about recent Senate events so they can fully understand how difficult it has been to maintain this Senate with resigning members every couple of months.

Senator Hutchins finally adds that while he acknowledge the concerns regarding the portal and the storage of magical items, please be aware that every measure is being taken to ensure the safety of Khaz Modan and its people. The rifleman replied that he hold the senator true to his word.

Senator Stormpike mentions that as members of the Alliance, the Seats are open for application to any honest citizen of the Alliance who happens to be a hard worker, a master in their trade, and willing to be publicly held accountable fer their results. Senator Hutchins adds in that one need to be a citizen of Ironforge as well.

With all concerns answered, the meeting was concluded after roughly eighty minutes, making it one of the longer meetings we've had in a while. Good discussions and argumentation from all around, no insults flying back and forth allows me to say that this has been a good meeting. May the Titans guide our steps, always.

Re: •IC• Report Archives

Post by Azapha on Thu Mar 02, 2017 4:58 pm

Written on the 2nd of march by Senator Azapha Kaylock

Attendance list:
Senator Hutchins
Senator Kaylock

Senate started at five 20:05 Ironforge time after a few minuets discussion as to the where abouts of Lord Blackforge, after which Senator Kaylock opened the session in Lord C Blackforge's absence.

Senator Hutchins opened the discussion with the report on the scouting mission of the island of Shield's Rest in Stormheim, the landing to the Island proved to be no bother for the scouting party, However the island appears to be full of various hostiles. The first encounter were named by Senator Hutchins as Vrykul Necromancers that were disturbing the dead from their rest, though the purpose for this is currently unknown the presumption is that they are supporting the Legion.

The Scouting party got past these Vrykul through high rocks and exceptional advisement of stealth from one of the Mountaineers, pressed on deeper and encountered what Senator Hutchins described as a Nesting area of the local Dragons. The Scouting party remained unseen, in no small part due to luck of the Dragons they stumbled upon being asleep at the time. Pressing further from there and going down another cliff-face we descended into a thick fog and had there vision hampered by the conditions. Senator Hutchins noted an odour of rotting fish. One of the party managed to actually see the source of this smell using magics and gave Intel of what appeared to be Vrykul with sea-life over their bodies, if it had not been for his magics telling him otherwise he would have presumed them Undead. A mountaineer then informed us of a tale he had heard from an Orcish captive back in Northrend years ago, who spoke of "monsters that came with the mist".

Apparently these are "Kvaldir", some form of cursed Vrykul. Regardless, venturing further and trying to be as careful as we could with limited vision they found themselves attacked by one of them, Senator Hutchins then spoke of Misfortune on there side leading to having to flee the area. They did note one thing however, the belief they had found the location of a tomb. The party only briefly heard some foul chanting from within but as we were forced to flee went no further.

After breaking the mist, it seemed the Kvaldir were not so willing to follow. The Party reports they have found a good landing site for another expedition to fully attempt to explore the tomb for the Explorer's League which sounds most promising!

Moving on From Senator Hutchins Report and with only two Senators Present. Senator Kaylock then continues by asking how promising it seemed to have a return expedition ready for this coming Saturday, Senator Hutchins makes his thoughts clear that there would need to be a significantly larger party that are more able to tackle hostile threats needed to pursue any further in than had been by there scouting party.

After this we moved on to the open session where other visitors were aloud to speak to the table.

The first to talk was Miss Flemk Meserath who expressed interest in joining the expedition to Shields rest, explaining that she was interested in joining and her "team" would also be interested, however Miss Meseraths team would not likely be ready to attend this coming Saturday and would also not be willing to work for free.

Senator Hutchins explained that There will be compensation which can be discussed outside of the Senate, Miss Meserath seemed pleased to hear such and added her interest in having a discussion after the Senate had finished

The next to speak was Guard Captain Cid Blackforge who brought forward information regarding a messenger and the whereabouts of one of our Senators, it appears that Senator Stormpike was not in Ironforge due to attempts to organize some cooperation agreement with other Alliance partys. Captain Blackforge suggested his opinion that it was highly likely to be linked to Artefacts (suggestion seems likely due to Senator Stormpikes position).

The last to speak was Ogrik Wildhammer who expressed an interest in joining the expedition briefly and agreed to also meet after the Senate to discuss details.

There was no more  questions asked in the open session and as such Senator Kaylock closed the Senate at 20:40 Ironforge time after forty minutes, the meeting was purely focused on the Expedition it seems as no other topics made it to the table however it seems there is promising interest, a good meeting.

May the Shadows of the light guide us.

Re: •IC• Report Archives

Post by Cid on Thu Mar 09, 2017 1:02 pm

Written on the 9th of March by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Kaylock
Senator Stormpike
Senator Hutchins

Senate started per schedule at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
Senator Kaylock started with her report about the expedition to Shield's Rest, and she wish to thank all those who participated. We did not find what we intended, however we did manage to acquire a number of relics, some of high value and even some information regarding the Vrykul that we had not known about. The mission was despite a few minor issues and hostilities a success, there will be a report on the findings ready for next week, also Senator Stormpike may wish to take a look at some of the findings himself. Senator Kaylock will make sure he is among the first to get a report and thinks he would be best to send these findings to the Explorers League.

When she was done, senator Stormpike reported about his trip around the Alliance lands, more specifically the cities of Stormwind, Aerie Peak and finally to the Wandering Isle. It just so happened to wander close to the coast I was coming back on. Reports were positive about the possibility of visiting and strengthening diplomatic ties with the Shang Xi Academy. That trip proved fruitful... But on the long run he believes.
The research for artifacts has been recently equated with war procurement. As a result, local governments won't disclose much about their findings or surveyings, even to close allies. It also seems that the teaching of our knowledge and surveying methods by the League of Explorers to our allies is the direct cause for it, hence why they would send help when asked unconditionally, but not share back what they find.

Senator Hutchins states that the Explorer's League is still the prime source of archaeological finds in the world. It may be a slight slap in the face but in the end they would be the ones losing out for turning their noses up at Ironforge.

Senator Stormpike continues, saying that as our dearest friends seem not to want to acknowledge publicly that they are enforcing such a policy, he believes we have a duty to do so now, which is why he have a decree proposal right here. This decree states that any kind of cooperation of the Explorers' League with allied States-affiliated entities will have to be approved by the Seat of Artifacts, without any possible exceptions, on pain of imprisonment for treason.

Reactions upon the last part immediately showed, especially from the Seat of Order Hutchins, who said that senator Stormpike failed to run this by him.

However, Senator Stormpike merely promotes the decree, it hasn't been made official as of yet. He hopes that this will send a message to non-cooperating allies when it suits them. The Explorers' League very sentiment is what prompted him to write this decree when he got back from his trip. As a result, every known detachment will be sent new contracts that they can sign if they comply with the new rules, or choose to ignore and be offered another position as a civil servant, or walk away free.

Concerns from senator Kaylock regarding the progress of current digsites was raised, especially since this might slow them down or even halt them in some cases. I then raised a concern about if senator Stormpike recalled who was actually running the Explorers' League. Brann Bronzebeard has however shown commitment to the realm over the past few years since the rise of the Relinquary, and senator Stormpike have also sent him a letter with a copy of this decree.

Senator Kaylock then asks if senator Stormpike knows how many sites the Explorers' League currently have interests in that are near or on Allied lands, to which he replies that there currently are twenty-four digsites, if counting those operational in Pandaria to be on Alliance territory, otherwise it goes down to nineteen.

Senator Kaylock believes that this most certainly does send a message, however, it may also be the exact reason such a nation needs to be less welcoming to the Explorers' League being there in the first place. She put it like this: If she was a nation leader and senator Stormpike had interests in doing relic hunts on her land, he send her this after some years of good co-operation and she holds all his access routes to the site on her own land. How easy could it be for her to simply stop the access and both of them lose out on it?

However, that is a discussion that need to be taken at some other time, as it will require time and thought to handle this matter properly. Senator Hutchins also had a report to hand in, more specifically that the Ironforge military has been preparing for a recon mission deep into incredibly hostile and dangerous, enemy territory. Although specific times and dates will remain classified, he could share that the preparation time is near swift completion and the mission will launch shortly after that. To any members of other Alliance nations, be they military linked or mercenaries, if they wish to lend their aid to this mission they may send a letter to senator Hutchins for more details. However he state now that if any wish to join, the risk of injury is considerable. And he won't tolorate any lack of discipline that puts any soldier of Ironforge, or our allies, at risk.

After that was said, the reports were finished. I reminded the crowd that there are still two vacant seats in the Senate left, Seat of Relations and Seat of Transactions. Then we began the free word, but no topics got raised, thus we concluded the meeting after one hour from the beginning. May the Titans keep guiding our steps.

Written on the 16th of March by Chancellor Blackforge.

Attendance list:
Senator Hutchins
Senator Kaylock
Senator Stormpike

Senate started as usual at 20.00 local Ironforge time.
A messenger arrived and told that senator Stormpike will be delayed a bit, so we began with the reports to get things moving as we wait. Senator Kaylock had nothing new to report, but senator Hutchins however had something.

He reported two things, first that he have finished the new draft of the laws of Khaz Modan, which are avaliable for any and all to review upon request. Secondly, the final preparations for the mission he mentioned last week are complete. Again, if anyone not of Ironforge military wishes to aid in this mission then they must sent senator Hutchins a letter or speak with him after the Senate has concluded. The details won't be shared in the open Senate for security reasons, however if you are interested in learning more we can possibly speak after all this has finished.

After that, senator Stormpike wished to talk about the decree he made. he believes that this decree will show the Alliance that the Explorers' League is before all a dwarven organization from Ironforge at the service of the Kingdom's interests in discovering the origins of the dwarven people, the Titans' creations, and to seize any artifacts of interest and/or power that may be of use to the Kingdom. Not a free-for-all consulting firm of philanthropic and naive archaeology teachers.
Because every artifact that could and should have been found by our explorers and archaeologists but isn't sets the safety and potency of the Council of the Three Hammers one step back. He have stated here the shambolic state of the respect from foreign governments towards Khaz Modan's interests, others who claim that we dwarves 'already have all of the gold and artifacts'.

Senator Kaylock still feels this could well be taken as an insult by some nations, the idea that some places will be out of bounds for Explorers league to continue research is not a hopeful one.

Senator Stormpike responds that he can't possibly see how this could be taken as an insult. He is merely responding to even harsher policies coming from our allies.

I asked if it is an "Eye for an eye" situation, since he just stated that this decree was formed as a response to other nations decrees and policies. I also added that I cannot help but think this seem like an attempt to get payback somehow for the other nation representatives behaviour.

Senator Kaylock however see the situation that there will be places that one could be considered outlawed from participating in sites because it has been "deemed unfit" and can be punished. Senator Stormpike states that he is out of business. The Kingdom's archaeologists are strewn about barren digsites where all the relevant information is being withheld from them. I cannot send them to useful places. They are unhappy and so is he. There are friendlier partners and he is willing to send the Explorers to work with them instead, but for now the resources are being subdued.

Senator Kaylock agrees to make the most beneficial moves for research Senator, but she is concerned regarding outlawing longer used sites. She wonders if he can agree to make moves without a Decree. Senator Stormpike replies that it ain't his fault if proper diplomacy isn't being enforced. I retorted that we do lack a Seat of Relations and a Seat of Transactions still, thus diplomacy has been a bit harder to keep up properly.

Senator Stormpike wouldnt need to promote such a decree if the people in charge of Relations would "walk up to their homologues and ask them for a bloody explanation!" as he put it. He is tasked with signing dozens of documents sending resources and payment to our faithful and top-notch archaeologists and other professionals around the world every month. If you know what running a budget is like, you're supposed to profit from your investments at some point. And there are only costs today.
He also reports that he have received a letter from the Shang Xi Academy, the ruling body on the Wandering Island. Quickly put, they regret the commitment they made to help us with archaeological digsites because they're hosting members of the Alliance and the Horde alike. They manifest their will to remain neutral and apologize for leading the senator on. He believe they have been intimidated by members of the Horde, which to him sounds like great news, seeing as it means that the Horde hasn't tried the espionage approach. He would have felt uneasy with a full cooperation.

Returning to the topic of the decree, we were asked to voice our opinions and reasons for them. The majority of senators dislike the idea at all, but some understand the necessity of it. Senator Kaylock believes what she said already, that the idea of encouraging better paths of research is good, but outlawing older ones is simply against the intent of the Explorers League itself.

After that, we let the word get free. The first to raise a hand was Councillor Blazesong, who aired her opinion on the points about the decree, as it seems it could damage public relations, something one might not want during such a major conflict as the one on the broken isles.
Senator Stormpike replies that as he sees it, the vacancy in our Seat of Relations is seen as exploitable weakness by our allies. We couldn't easily get worse public relations. The Alliance needs the people and resources of Khaz Modan, but apparently not its voice in the strategic talks. He also states that the public unrest is rampant, in part because of this Senate. He says that the leaders of the Alliance aren't taking the Kingdom of Ironforge seriously enough. Blazesong asks what this decree will solve, to which senator Stormpike replies "The undending outpouring of our money, talent and resources".
Blazesong warns the Senate however of the dangers of isolationism, and that we ought to take care in not going too far with it. Senator Stormpike says that he thought he would have heard this argument from Senators Kaylock and Hutchins rather than from her. Blazesong then says that she have seen these kind of tendencies from the senate before. It did not go too well in the past.

Senator Hutchins puts forth his opinion about the decree, stating that is rather why he refuse to approve senator Stormpike's proposal himself, as it makes threats of treason to those who do not follow suit with it. He do not mind senator Stormpike discussing between the League and changing what internal policies they may have there, make rules for that as they will, but senator Hutchins will not be trialing people for treason for not agreeing to follow such.

Senator Stormpike says that there will be no trials for treason because this decree is merely an argument to refuse to be sent on non-Khaz Modan sanctioned missions. Senator Hutchins argues about the 'degrees' of treason, stating there are no such degrees in the lawbook. Either someone is a traitor, or not. Senator Stormpike replied with "Technicalities. Well forgive me for not being a lawyer like yourselves". He also says that since this is what we have come to, he propose that we postpone this talk to next week. He will address all of our... Most important... Concerns.

Senator Hutchins final reply to the topic was that while he's not going to comment on the archaeological side of things, anything to do with turning into actively breaking the law he will. And in this case he does not agree with senator Stormpike's opinion on the matter.

After that, we concluded after eighty minutes worth of discussions. May the Titans keep us on the path, always.

Signed:
Chancellor Blackforge
Senator Hutchins
