Re: Warlords of Draenor - General Discussion

Mention of "WoD" cinematic button added to the beta over at MMO Champ reminded me again of the fact, that Blizzard should really just gather all their patch trailers from ever since Vanilla and add them into the game for you to watch. Especially some of them videos from WoTLK forwards, that actually had a bit of a story told in them that you couldn't see from anywhere else. Latest good example would be this...

...showing you how the Vale got effed up by Garrosh, which as far as I know, you only found-out about in-game by reading some bit of NPC dialog, if even that. If Arthas can have a statue showing him getting defeated, then you can add statues for all that other stuff as well! Just use the w/e Archeology place at Vale for that.

Can you still make suggestions through a GM ticket?

The expressions I like though.

When you say BBC Porn do you mean.... Like Michelle Hussain doing Nick Robinson in the house of lords?

MMO has images of the Level 3 Garrisons up for both Horde and Alliance.

And... the Alliance Town Hall building interior actually looks like what you'd expect for a Town Hall. Meeting room etc... whilst the Horde Great Hall interior... is an empty circle from what I can see... Was kinda hoping for a throne or something... *pouts*

Also... urgh, its starting to look like we may not even make it to 6.1 before flying appears in Draenor... God damn it Blizzard, come on! Stick to your guns on this one!

Welp. Now we know where all future Alliance war councils will be taking place.

That is beautiful.

Honestly, even most of the "Zomg no flying will be awesome!"-people are probably going to get sick of not having any flying after a few weeks at max level, not to mention all the people who think max level flying is fine the way it is. The novelty wears off rather quickly of having to do the repetetive Dailies roundtrip while dodging mobs left and right.

I don't know why anyone deludes themselves into thinking that removing flying will somehow make things better, including Blizzard themselves. Yes thank you I did play Vanilla, TBC and WotLK when we didn't have flying in the Old World. It was honestly not that great. In fact it was kind of dull.

I'm really on the fence to be honest. So I'm happy for them to do whatever they decide to do.

While on one side, flying is convenient, saves time, and pretty.

I mean, I feel like it does change how the game feels from an environmental perspective. The feeling of flying over something will always be different to walking under/on it. Be that for better or worse.

My only real gripe with it, is it does make the world feel smaller. For me at the very least.

Just my two cents.

This is all absolutely true, but the flying mounts are already in the game. After they first implemented it in TBC, it's been too late to go back, really - most people playing this game want the convenience of flying since it's an option.

Also, when I have some 50-60 flying mounts, it doesn't really make any sense that I can fly them in the tumultous skies of Outland, the frozen icy air of Northrend and the magically active Pandaria.. but for some reason the largely ordinary planet Draenor suddenly makes my flying mounts incapable of bearing their own weight. Do the laws of physics change between alternate timelines, or what?

They've said it's an experiment. If it does work out, they'll explore the possibilities of it. If it doesn't work out, we'll have flying in 6.1 and the "WPVP IS DEAD" crowd will have stuff to do again.

I'm alright with either, but certainly don't think it'll be one of the things to "save" WoW, would they keep it in the expansion. Could probably see myself getting frustrated at some point, when I have to do dailies for 4-5 factions spread across all Draenor...

Arakkoa of the old had a way better posture.

That's really cool. Whenever people on the official forums have gone: "Arakkoa for next playable race! They're so cool omg!" in the past, I've replied "The Arakkoa are ugly and monotonous hunchbacks who all look alike the rest, no matter how cool their lore is". These however, look like something someone could want to play as.

Old Arakkoa were vastly superior. Sad

Old Arakkoa were the kind of creatures only tbc-babies could love(being one myself, I still can't force myself to care about them one bit). Every one of them looked exactly like one another. Fat birds in cloaks.

That a good Hrnnnng or a bad Hrnnnng?

Either way, the zone looks quite promising Smile Although... I am a tad miffed with the Garrison bit in here... Mage Tower OR Armoury... But I wants both in my base! Hope we get the option to snag a blueprint for the one we didn't choose in the zone...

Man, Blizzard's making weird rookie mistakes.

What's up with those arm bandages, and the feathers weirdly poking through them. Surely if you've got an arm full of feathers and you bandages them, you tie the feathers to your arm?

Sloppy design :/

Left side of that load screen looks good. Sylvanas looks really bad, and the right side isn't very good.

Edit:
The belf is really messy, too many details and too little thought given to the posture etc. The dwarf is nice, but who is he even supposed to be? Right now, lorewise, the most active leader of the council of the three hammers is Moira, and I don't think she's got a beard.
