The Lion's Den
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Rargnasha was leaning against the table within the top floor of the Hall of the Brave, his eyes looking down upon the map spread out infront of him. His allies had been gathered, ships and routes had been prepared, along with strategies to conceal their approach.. He let out a grunt of approval as his eyes trailed over the maps, following the circles and lines and that had been drawn upon it crudely. A few ships had been prepared for their departure.. Their destination.. The human kingdoms- The Lion's Den..

OOC Campaign Setting
The aim of this campaign is to focus upon smaller balance to encourage balance between the Horde and the Alliance, as experienced in large battles in the previous campaigns, the Horde mainly dominates large scale battles, where as smaller skirmishes seem to be alot more balanced between the two factions, there-for it is encouraged that our factions split up into groups of 3-10 characters per battle, if a group exceeds 10 characters, it is encouraged either to rotate these characters between battles, or split up into two smaller groups while looking for battles.

In order to co-ordinate this, we are looking for players willing to take on the role of Battle Leaders, these players will be sharing their Battletag with each other and the character names of these people will be posted here on the forums. Furthermore, campaign Channels will be made where people can ask for people to join them and co-ordinate their efforts etc.

The areas originally intended for this campaign is: Westfall, Duskwood and Redridge. Additionally, we may also explore the possibility of using these following areas: Stranglethorn Vale, Elwynn Forest, Deadwind Pass and Swamp of Sorrows.
Battles and raids can take place at any time at any day, but before you attack an enemy camp, make sure that there are enemy players around to contest it.

Rules for Combat
PvP is considered In Character.

Be prepared to defend yourself anywhere, anytime.

You can attack and raze enemy camps. Just check with the enemy if there is any RP elements/players stationed at.

No flying mounts during battles

No ressing during battles (neither by spell or corpse-running)

No Corpse-camping. Give your opponents time to ress after battle.

Numbers of people during battles will be balanced to ensure both sides are having fun. You may be asked to wait for your turn.

PvP Gear is strongly recommended. PvE gear is allowed* (*PvE gear is allowed in lack of other. However, if you appear with 900k Hp and Legendary Cloak animation expect to be treated like a Raid Boss: No mercy, facing superior numbers and CC-chained to hell)

PvP should be enabled at all times when in any of the contested zones.

Number of healers should be balanced between the teams.

Safe Zones
While both factions are encouraged to spend their time in the warzones, there is also sometimes a need for RP that isn't centered solely around battle.

Stormwind will be seen as a safe zone for the Alliance, where-as Stonewatch Keep will be considered a safe zone for the Horde, until the last day where assaults upon otherwise safe zones will be opened up (With the exception of Stormwind).

Skirmish Leaders Battletags
The Battletags will not be made public, but will be shared amongst those who display an interest in helping with co-ordinating these skirmishes that can happen at all times!

RP-PvE Events!
Furthermore, I thought we could add some 'RP-PvE Events' or 'GM'ed events' as they may also be called (And Im sure there's various other names for them as well)

An example of one such event could be...

After striking a pact with the Gurubashi Troll, they've sent a few Loa-priests up into Duskwood who've tracked down a Spider Broodmother. This great spider was then empowered, increasing the strength, seize and ferocity of its brood - Along with giving the spiders an insatible hunger for humans, draenei, dwarves, worgen, night elves and, especially, gnomes.

These spiders would not have an actual impact on the PvP battles themselves, but could be something that'd be considered for various other purposes, and, ofcourse, something for the Alliance to do as well.

A group of Alliance members could then band together in order to look into what has suddenly gone wrong with the spiders, track down these ferocious basterds to their lair and slay the Broodmother, thus stopping the spider plague.

While everyone should be able to take part in these events, it was with the initial thought that this could be something for lower level characters to participate in while feeling that they're contributing substanstionally to the efforts of their faction.

This kind of events would not be limited to just one, and everyones encouraged to try and come up with plots and adventures that could prove entertaining to either of the factions! If you post some of your ideas here in the thread, please send them to Rargnasha in whispers too.

These events can come in several variations. Some of them will be DM'ed by the faction engaging in the event, while others may be DM'ed by a player from the opposite faction!

State of the War

This post will contain a map, as well as updates as to what has taken place that changes the field.

Friday the 9th:

*Two Horde ships, under the cover of night and a dense wall of fog, made it close to the Westfall shore where they deployed their troops - However, they were soon pursued by Alliance ships, close to ensnaring and demolishing them - In the nick of time, a group of shaman managed to summon a storm that slowed down the Alliance ships and stopped one of them long enough for the Horde ships to escape Southward...*

*Between the Redridge and Elwyn Forest pass a loud BOOM was heard as the beforehand set explosives went off. A landslide was caused and the road is now blocked with rubble and large rocks. These are hard to pass on Horse back, but are easily climbed over.*

*The Northern bridge between Elwynn Forest and Westfall has been demolished. As it was blown up, near simultanious attacks were launched upon the Northern Farms. Some farmers remember nothing, while others experienced raving marauders running at them and running away. Perhaps surprisingly, not a single farmer has been reported slain. Alot of their food supplies are, however, gone. Once dawn rises, posters upon the Furlbrow Farm and the Molsen Farm can be discovered. They seem to have been written in both orcish and common.*

Bloodmarked Message:

There is no glory in slaugthering civillians. So to the civillians of the Alliance I say this: You do not fear for your lives to be ended by the blades of my warriors. If not provoked, you will be left unmaimed by our forces.
-Rargnasha Bloodmark

*Horde presence has been confirmed in Redridge, and violent skirmishes has already broken out between an alliance patrol and a Horde scouting party. The Horde scouting party emerged victorious and returned to their camp.*

*The Alliance has flown messages to the various settlements in Duswkood, Westfall and Redridge, calling the citizens and militia alike to prepare for eventual attacks, as well for citizens to evacuate.*

Saturday the 10th:

Bloodmarks forces has discovered that the elemental spirits in the area are distressed and weakened.

They have also begun setting up kitchen facilities in Stonewatch Keep. Good quality food is now available to the troops, rejoice!

Battles have broken out in the areas of Westfall, Redridge and Duskwood.

The horde forces that went into Duskwood were routed swiftly and efficiently, by forces that later sped to Westfall to aid their allies.

In Westfall, a group of raiders managed to push their way through the opposition and loot several different materials and resources from the farms - Whereafter they were pushed out by alliance reinforcements. These reinforcements then travelled to Redridge..

A Third group started pushing Alliance forces away from Stonewatch Keep, securing the perimeter where-after they began making a dent in Lakeshires outer defences. As the defenders were pushed back, reinforcements arrived to meet the group consisting mainly of Red Blades. However, they too suffered too many casulties before they gathered enough soldiers to force the Blades into a retreat.

Sunday the 11th:

Alliance prisoners have been seen flung out over the cliffs near Stonewatch Keep.

Later, a prisoner exchange was arranged at the crossroads between Stonewatch keep and Lakeshire. While tensions were high, it went through without incident.

Two large paths, one being the vallypath north of lakeshire that leads to the Burning Steps, and the other being the southern path in duskwood, leading to Stranglethorn, has been covered in a large landslide. The job is very precis and well executed. There is no way for mounts or carts to go through.

Alliance forces clashed with scouts in Redridge, after a few battles the scouts were throughoutly routed.

Monday the 12th:

Alliance and Horde forces clashed violently in Duskwood, however, at the end of the day, the Alliance forces were routed.
Sensing a disturbance with the elemental spirits of water, shamans were sendt out to investigate Lake Everstill

They discovered that the elemental spirits of the lake were in deep distress and they followed it's bidding to slay the murlocs of the lake and sacrafise them to the elemental spirit.

Too late the shaman realised that they were not truely aiding the spirit, but corrupting it further - It was first after it had been tainted and the shamans resisted its temptations, that they managed to cleanse it.
An assassination attempt was attempted at Bloodmark. The assassin has not been seen leaving again.

Tuesday the 13th:

The Forces of Dominion managed to repel another attack on their base! They are now patrolling the dark forests of Duskwood, travellers beware...!
Those daring to step outside of Darkshire, have also begun missing when not in company of armed soldiers.
A man of the Nights Watch dragged his comrad into Darkshire before succumbing to some seemingly minor wounds. While in a feverish nightmare, the man was heard muttering about spiders. He is now recovering in the Darkshire inn and can be questioned. The other milita man didn't survive. (Entrance to Spider DM'ed event if anyones interested)
A company of Horde soldiers launched an assault on Alliance forces riding out of Redridge, they were beaten back repeatively until Bloodmark arrived with reinforcements - After some viscious battles, Bloodmarks forces left victorious, but not without loses.
An arrow was sendt into Lakeshire nearly at midnight. The message on it would read:
Yet another arrow message:
"Mok'ra Alliance. You have some of ours. We have some of yours. Come to the Crossroads tomorrow near midnight.
"

Wedensday the 14th:

A relatively quiet day. Only a few battles breaking out. 5 Alliance members has been released from captivity, led by Rargnasha and Helmut, a prisoner exchange managed to go through peacefully once again.

Thursday the 15th:

Raids has been carried out upon the unsuspecting farms in Southern Elwynn Forest. Farmers report having been assaulted by Horde forces, and while there've been no deaths, the farmers report plenty of their lifestock, food and other belongings stolen.

A wooden board has been set up outside of Stonewatch Keep. It has a few circles painted on it, like the targets an archer would practise with.
Underneath it is written in bold common letters.
"The closer you strike to the middle, the higher priority your message will be given. -Bloodmark."

Friday the 16th:

What began as a feint on Lakeshire, turned into a full-scale invasion, Bloodmarks forces rushed through the city, pushing the defenders out while going on a rampage.
Due to Alliance foresigth, civillians had already been evacuated nearly a week prior to the attack.
After this, Bloodmarks forces escorted all of their plunder and loot down into Stranglethorn Vale, it was not without trouble though, as the Alliance attempted to intercept the caravan.
Best as the Horde came to the exit of Duskwood, they found the path had been blocked by an earthslide. This, whlie proving an unwelcome delay as the alliance was hot on their heels, was taken care of by the shaman amongst Bloodmarks forces.
The Caravan continued it's path down to Grom'Gol, where it has been prepared to be shipped to Orgrimmar.

Saturday the 17th:

The Alliance launched an attack upon Stonewatch, but were repelled. Bloodmarks forces then launched a viscious counter-attack and managed to push all the way into Lakeshire. The Alliance managed to push out the Horde forces momentarily, where-after they invaded again, put fire on some buildings and then left.

An Elwynn farmer reports that his priced boar has gone missing.

Sunday the 18th:

Alliance forces led by Bismack clashed with Bloodmarks by the crossroads, and managed to push Bloodmarks forces all the way back to Stonewatch Keep. There, Bloodmark got reinforcements and chased after Bismacks soldiers - The chase ended at the path leading to the Burning Steppes, where several clashes were had before the conflict was chosen to be ended by duels.

The two groups lined up at each side of the Canyon and had soldiers fight it out one on one within the small valley, with the twist that as soon as one soldier had fallen in the duel, one of his comrads would replace him immediately.

The Blood sport seemed to entertain both crowds enough to forego the fighting after a few accidents.

As the night fell Bloodmarks forces prepared to set out from Stonewatch – However, before they were ready groups of the Alliance, scattering them before they could get going. Bloodmarks forces managed to regroup and push the Alliance forces in front of them, marching a bloody march into Redridge as revenge for the earlier humiliation. The Alliance responded in force to this and dogged Bloodmarks forces steps all the way into the Burning steppes, where the Alliance held their ground, both factions heading their separate way to lick their wounds.

In response to the Horde messages, an similiar arrow is shot into Stonewatch Keep during the morning. It has been written in Orcish and reads:

Message:
"Get your savages out of Westfall, Duskwood and Redridge. They will be endangered upon both the roads and outside as long as they continue mocking our forces and the treaty with their presence.

Between Duskwood and Deadwind pass stands a signpost.
No alliance may cross that point unless it's a larger host!
Charlie Blaze was the first to attempt but he did not prevail
Who else will try to cross this death filled dangerous trail?

Those following the Path of Dawnchaser are lending their aid to the Orcs of the Red Blade and have opened an infirmary in their headquarters to tend to the wounded. They also act as field medics. Dawnchaser warriors serve only to protect said medics.

Dawnchasers' aim is to protect civilians and prisoners. Discussions have been held with Chieftain Rargnasha on non-violent means to deal with prisoners and the Dawnchasers condone no violence against them, less they prove themselves a serious, dangerous threat to the Orcs' forces and Dawnchasers.

Pandaren in the Path of Dawnchaser guild are not Dawnchasers and have no IC connections to the Dawnchaser's missions. They do not bear our tabard IC and are acting independantly IC.

Helmut Spoon has started to put down signs around Lakeshire. They read in large letters:

DO NOT VENTURE OUT ON YOUR OWN AND WITHOUT ORDERS!
ALL WHO VENTURES OUT ON THE FIELD WITHOUT A GIVEN ORDER GOING
FROM THE TOP OFFICERS SHALL DO SO ON THEIR OWN RISK!
THE MILITARY WILL NOT NEGOTIATE FOR YOUR RETURN IF TAKEN BY THE HORDE!

Talks about handling of prisoners has been made between Rargnasha and alliance representative Seiken.

So far no conclusive agreements have been made, as Rargnashas offer to trade prisoners for resources was declined.
