I'd like to see the scenario where Acrenor is under siege, a mixture of PvP and RP, where all gates to the keep are magicall locked and the Alliance forces fight desperately against the enemy hordes just by the ruined village outside, while atop the Tower spire, mages of the ordo arcana battle fiercly with the Horde wizards in an Epic showdown...

One can only Dream!

This seriously makes me Think about actually carrying out the scenario of such a siege. Like: if the duskwood/deadwind/all that other s*** is carried out, Acrenor would be a suitable Alliance bastion. It can host many troops ICly and the rest of the army can make camp to surround the citadel (its OOCly karazhan zone we ar using).

...Cubcakes--?!

...I hate it when you get ideas...    o   _ o''

also, if its actually kara, then by default its a tower with no walls, one entrance/exit and on low ground from a single road. It'd be an easy siege target.

The next thing you know the Horde will take over SW with
Story-wise, at the moment, with the Horde's recent victories, it makes sense to strike where it hurts at the moment.

But ya know whatever you feel is right. I don't see Alliance doing any better PvP wise in the future.

Not until we Dwarves get our acts in order at least. We've got a batch of new recruits that we are getting up in levels and gearing up, plus we are also busy promoting our voicechat, so that we can coordinate stuff like we've done in past campaigns. Fear the beards, we will be marching soon... Twisted Evil

Who says anything about losing prot? Talking about coordination here, which is what Alliance lacks in general, which only the Dwarves have had so far among the guilds.

What the alliance needs is a real leader of noble blood! And Major general, Sir Earl Buckholme is that man XD

This is almost cute.

Guys, so long as the horde has a dedicated WPVP guild on their side and we don't, there's not much hope :p

I am not in favor of using Stranglethorn Vale, to get this baby back on topic again. It's not really an ''empty'' zone since we reside there.

The 'Empire' is not part of the horde though, nor is the horde obligated to take into account its opinion. So call me callous, but why should either side care? Its not like those trolls have spent near a decade hunting down and killing both factions who go there-- oh right :p

Getting a little off-track here, but I don't believe a single WPVP guild can make the difference in such a matter. The Alliance used to have Bloodwind to such an end, to name just a single example, though that didn't always mean a guarantee for success either.

Now I may be a tad out of the loop since I've been absent from the previous campaign before the one in Northrend took place, but from what I noticed, people tried to go all-out on the "tactics" prior to the one battle I attended in Northrend. Maybe it's just me, but it was kind of a culture shock to realize people were apparently so hell-bent on winning a simple battle that they resorted to OOC tactics like an excessive pre-battle planning involving multiple Cloaks of Shadows and what have you. Don't get me wrong, I've done my share of OOC tactics back in the days as well, but it really seems to have taken precedence over actually RPing the situation out nowadays. Have people become so obsessed on winning every single encounter that they're willing to drop RP for it and sink back into an OOC attitude for an entire twenty-minute tactics planning and practicing? It seemed a little excessive in my eyes, at least. There's a clear line between doing RP-PvP for the sake of fun/RP and doing it for the sake of winning. I like to think the former should still take priority over the latter.

Wholeheartedly agreed. We don't line up and fight frontal assaults anymore, it is just "the one who stealths and opens first, wins". Remember when we fought in Wetlands, Koz? DRS and ORB? That was a good fight, all the way, despite minor drama about the gear issues.
