Spoiler:

Amaryl wrote:I'm not against reducing the gap. The problem lies with enforceability. its just not fun to check through everyone's gear, and look at their trinkets/rings/etc... and neither do that prevent people from switching after gear check. and then people find out... or a simple rumor on one side that the otherside is using dreaded pve gear... that shit just causes drama.

the point isn't that the gear is fair... the problem is that when rules cannot be enforced, or when the enforcement thereof you create an even bigger and arguably worse gap, between cheaters and the ones playing by the rules.

Again, this isn't an argument regarding the OPness of pve gear(and the people that are able to devote time to collect them(everybody could have that gear if they really wanted to.) but a point in drama-prevention.

And that's the last thing i'll say about this, since every RP-PVP initiative is one I support full heartedly, but it is something to keep in mind.

Drama is in our nature, we cant avoid it we just have to surf its waves while wearing cool sunglasses.

I'm looking forward to this, cant wait.

Or everything's easily solved by just playing things out in battlegrounds where gear is rounded down?

Some sugested there would be no restrictions, well besides the legendary cloak. I mean i'll keep on killing things either way. But there is a sure chance i'll see a warlock raid boss somewhere in between or something Very Happy

I don't really see your reasoning behind that. It's way better than having people with PvE gear simply topping everyone else. PvP gear is more accessible and from my experience, more RPers have PVP gear than RPers have PvE gear.

The way I see it, the choice is between drama or boredom.

I'll take drama.

A question about the gear rules. Most players in my guild does not have any PvP gear and only Raidfinder/Flex/Normal raiding gear.

Are the rules saying that you cannot have -any- items over 522ilvl
or
that your -average ilvl- equipped may not be over 522?

We are currently under the impression that no items above 522 will be allowed (effectively Grievous Gladiator is the "best" gear for this campaign). I however do want to point out, we may not be a tyrannical as what this sounds like. If people are "around" the 522 mark either side, that will no doubt be good enough for us.

More information on this will be given out in the future.

How does this fit into the truce made by Varian Wrynn and Vol'jin?

Well, no restrictions would make it a lot easier for the dwarves.

That doesn't answer my question, at all.

How does this campaign fit into the truce made until the next patch/expansion by the leader of the Horde Vol'jin and King Varian Wrynn?

See it as warring player factions without the official "okay" from the king and warchief. Skirmishes between the horde and the alliance are constant, even during peacetime, as is evidenced in the ongoing battlegrounds.

This isn't skirmish sized.

Stromgarde is quiet the strategic point, as are other multiple important locations. Or will they be omitted from the campaign so it can be more skirmish associated?

Yes it is. It's just a few insignificant player-ran organisations having a little go at one-another.

PS:

I just realized that might sounds insulting or demeaning to some people, but I honestly mean it. I think role-play would go a lot more smoothly if we all realized how insignificant our player-created organisations are in the greater whole, so we don't have to worry ourselves with unanswerable questions like "What would the king think??".

The king thinks nothing. He doesn't care for you.

And that is mighty convenient, too!

An OOC veto on things from a 'higher power' is never a bad thing if those things are poorly reflecting the real lore. I still think this is a poor reflection of the lore.

Everybody has just fought Garrosh Hellscream, that bad tyrant guy who the Horde and Alliance stood by and now those same organizations are going at each other after their faction leaders came to an agreement?

Oh well, it doesn't entirely matter so enjoy!

Yet battle rage on, every day, in battlegrounds and Arena's on Azeroth and Outland. Or do those not count?

I've not discarded that!

But take into account that because these player run organizations are so small and insignificant that they have participated on the front likes against Garrosh Hellscream. These same orders who helped defeat the tyrant and establish an uneasy truce...

Now they engage in a war on another continent for what..?

Though! My perspective is completely based on the OOC, rather than IC. Seeing as it's organized by the Forsaken I am sure there are aspects and elements to this that are only known 'on the ground' and only IC.

As I said earlier, enjoy the event. The lore consistently is probably made up via the roleplay/subtly of it all.
