The Kaya Maru - Sailing under the Moon

How had she found her self here? The air was wet, the floor and entire room swayed from side to side, her captain lay on the floor with a hole in his chest the size of a fist and oh the ship was being attacked by pirates of some sort. The kind with dull blades and a thirst for blood sfor sure. A rather odd place for a night elf to find her self in, on her first trip out of Duskwood, and it was about to get more odd any minute now.

As she sat there on the pier she wondered if it had been the right choice or not. Leaving your home behind is never easy, leaving your home for the first time is never easy and leaving your parents behind with only a written note is just a plain bad idea. It wasn't much of a choice when it came to it really. Swaying her legs lightly over the edge, feeling the breze in her hair, enjoying the harbour. All this put her mind off all the thinking. It was going be the first best ship she could find, join the crew and sail as far as way as possible. The port was full today, she'd showed up early to have better chances, seeing as only the fishermen had gone out earlier. Traders, navy, merchants, big ships for fishing things much larger than.. Well fish. There seemed to be endless choices, but of course that was 'til you remembered that who would pick someone with no experience? Could she join the navy and fight for her kin? No. She couldn't even swing a sword without stabbing her self at least twice. A merchant ship it was then! Or.. Maybe not. She couldn't haggle nor could she carry great weight. Seeing as fishing meant staying near home only one choice was left. Privateering. There wasn't many privateers here, there was in fact only one ship. A small corvette with a crew of horrible reputation.

The Kaya Maru.

The crew seemed senseible by sailor standards as far as she could tell. All kin expect for a single human and all male. Well it was this or going back home and by her knowledge of ships and boats they where rigging up and that ment she would have to be quick or they would leave port without her. But how does a young and rather lightly clad night elven woman aproach a bunch of privateers? All men are the same in the end so there was only one way. Leaning against the railing, eyeing up the sailors with a sly grin on her face seemed to do the trick. That's not to say that her shirt that revealed a bit more than was socialy aceptable didn't help either or the waltz along the peir, hips going wide for that matter. I got their attention non the less. It was now or never.

((Will post some more tomorrow when I'm not half dead from making rope and sailing all day.))
