Additionally, a very small handful of copies are pasted next to some of the posters in Stormwind Mage and Dwarf Districts. No copies are pasted in Dalaran--it's clear Drustai is unwilling to risk it even while at her full power.

*Orthur strides through a portal into the Mage Tower of Stormwind as he does so quite frequently, his attention is immediately drawn to the mutters of various students discussing both halves of the story. Reading both himself, he chuckles muttering under his breath "I admit, I really -like- this Necromancer's style, makes ye look like a fool Serpentine."*

Faralan wrote:IT'S SHAMANISM YOU MONSTER! We commune with spirits, we don't force them back to eternal undeath in the world of the living!! Necromancy is forbidden and evil, is taught by the Ancestors themselves! *huffs* ))

Fixed* No teachings against that, it's not mentioned whatsoever. Implications can be interpreted to both support and denounce Necromancy within the Arathorian Faith, fyi. Oh and the line between Shamanism and types of 'Low' Necromancy that mimics it, such as Drustai states "communing with spirits", is extremely thin, it practically doesn't exist.

Oh and this is definately one of my most favourite reads as of yet on this forum, kudos to the both of you.

Re: Necromancy Must Remain in the Shadows

As per Drustai's instructions, Arenfel has ordered the couriers of the Kirin'tor to place her point of view next to his own declaration against Necromancy. However, a response is delivered to Drustai.

In another life, perhaps things could have been different...

This debate is about Necromancy and the dangers it possesses, not about the Archmage of the Kirin'tor or the Archmage of Koramor.

Necromancy by definition possesses corrupting agents which draw on shadow magic, and age the body at an accelerated rate. In addition to this, it can cause mental instability and irreversible damage to the soul. However as an un-living creature yourself, this probably holds no consequence for you.

You also speak of the acts of Necromancy I performed in Stormwind, without any repercussion? Tell me Drustai, I speak Thalassian. As a means of translating Arcane tomes that pre-date the first human magi, written by the Quel'dorei in their prime before the fall. As I know spells to destroy the undead, does that make me a necromancer? Just as being fluent in Thalassian, must also infer my loyalties bend to the foul Sin'dorei? The spells are branches of evocation, developed solely to combat the Undead. Nothing more.

Our students are kept away from libraries that contain Necromancy for the sheer fact that they are not ready to be schooled in such a dangerous art, to study its secrets and not fall prey to its seductive whispers takes varying degrees of mental restraint. Should I teach my apprentice how to summon a greater elemental, and have it kill him out of inexperience by the same logic?

Kel'thuzad once thought the same as you, mocked his fellow Archmagi and the Council of Six themselves in favour of his argument that Necromancy could be used safely. Where is he now, a pile of ashes on the ruins of Naxxramas. His cultists still remain to this day, covertly going about their business to restore the Cult of the Damned.

As for your point on my views being focussed solely on Humanism? What else did you expect, from a Human. Unlike you in your mad quest for immortality, I embrace my mortality. It is regrettable that in the coming decade my life is likely to end, however it is a fact I have resolved myself to. I addressed my statement to the Grand Alliance, and expressed my own views. A human can only see things through human eyes; as a Draenei may equally only see through Draeneic eyes.

I'm grateful you are so enthusiastic about our little debate, and eagerly wait your next installment.

I think the Alliance needs to realize your suppose to be the ' good guys ' and outright legalizing Necromancy would be ignoring centuries of culture and morality that all the Alliance races hold towards undeath, The Forsaken were not welcomed back with open arms. The Death Knights were used as a weapon and even then never -truly- treated equally. Just because it seems logical doesn't make it right. Cultural empathy people, empathy!

I wholeheartedly agree Vec. Even one as morally dubious as Delidah finds Necromancy to be a foul practice.

(( I don't mean to be setting off any kind of explosives here, but Vec is right here, this whole story line formed a debate that is "But Drustai is trying to save lives" and the Alliance, who have been trying to cull the practise of such dark magicks for years are being made out to be villainous for trying to arrest her. what ever way you look at it, Drustai is still using a highly forbidden magic school. That's it in a nutshell, no matter what.
Dru, I enjoyed reading that, as I always enjoy reading your stuff but I interpreted your post as... a bit petty and unrealistic, for lack of a better word. Would citizens of SW really WANT to read what a necromancer has to say? Considering people cooped in the city, away from the action that's been occuring with this RP plot, would most likely be hearing the hearsay and rumours that revolve around it and not the direct situation. I feel, as Delidah said this isn't really canon to the plot. I'd see these flyers or posts most likely destroyed as soon as they're recognised as Drustai's tbh, or not even permitted at all seeing as she's a criminal of the Alliance kingdom.
I know we had the *likes* fun at the start, but this is a WoW universe public bulletin notice, not a facebook arguement. ))

As blizzard used to explained the racial split between Alliance alligned Pandaren and Horde alligned Pandaren, The Alliance will always believe that morals should be remembered and honored above all things, even if it would be easier to accomplish your goals by sacrificing them.

A man clad in heavy armor donning the House Mistmantle coat of arms passes by and notices the new additions on a Stormwind notice board. He rips both Drustais response and the second one by Arenfel down. An hour later Stormwind guardsmen comes by the rest of the boards in Stormwind and removes the others. They place a notice on the boards, it states the following;

"By decree of the Stormwind Magistry anyone found creating or spreading propaganda of the practice of dark arts such as necromancy will be arrested for instigating crimes related to the practice in question."

((It's not my job to detail whether or not the messages are censored or removed. I'm the writer of the response, not the authority. I do not represent the Stormwind Regiment, nor the Justice ministry, nor the average citizen. I did nothing but do what Drustai would have done. I acted as was IC for her character. She wrote a response, illegally posted that response, and asked Arenfel to also help circulate her side (it was up to him whether or not he would, not me).

How those responses are responded to is not up to me.

As you can see from Braiden's post, the posters have indeed been removed.))
