The Lady of the Trinkets

... So I got bored and made this in about ten minutes after spending the day trying to farm HC gear.

-------------

Blistering heat engulfed the diminutive figure stalking slowly along the upper reaches of inner Blackrock Mountain. Blazing green eyes kept a close watch on every entrance to the area, watching for her prey. Occasionally, she would mutter incoherantly to herself in some incomprehensible language. The Blood Elf's messy dark hair clung to her face in the heat produced by the molten magma below. One wrong step, the slightest miscalculation of movement and it would be all over. She didn't fancy her chances against a pool of lava.

"Git a move on!" a rough voice belowed from one of the doors on the opposite side of her hiding place, bouncing around the hollowed out cavern.

At last! She could feel her hearts desire come closer... In the possession of some lowly Gnomes and their haphazard group of travel companions. She watched as an armoured Dwarf, the loudest of the group and owner of the bellowing voice, clattered into view. He pointed to the pillar shackled in place by enormous chains in the middle of the cavern.

"We're almost there! Dinnae hold oot oan us noo!"

The Dwarf leapt atop a chain and ran to the middle pillar, beckoning his companions to follow. A pale Night Elf with flowing white hair nimbly scaled the chain and joined the Dwarf on the other side, followed by a messy haired Human and a group of Gnomes. The Elf had been slowly making her way along the supporting top beams inside the cavern as they helped their Gnomish companions to safety. One looked pale, shivering and restless. Prey in sight, the huntress slipped unseen above them, dropping down onto the roof of a sturdy looking building, constructed by Dwarves by the look of the architecture.

The Night Elf let his gaze wander around the pillar they stood on, suddenly alert. "Be careful now... We are not alone..." He drew his bow, elaborately carved with an elven design. The Dwarf grunted and heaved an axe from over his shoulder while the Human drew dual swords.

"Quick Freddo! Throw it in!" the Human barked at the sick looking Gnome.

"B-but... It's so... " The small Gnome gazed at a rather modest looking trinket in his hand. Words of a strange language were carved into it, glowing in the dark cavern.

"My Precioussss!!" The Blood Elf let out a shrill scream as she leapt at the Gnome, arms outstretched! Her trinket was before her!

"Have at ye', scum!" A wildly swinging axe flew in the elf's direction, Dwarf and all. "Ye'll no git it fae us! This things goin' doon, an' ye' wi' it!"

Too late! The Blood Elf's delicate fingers closed around the trinket and her eyes glowed malevolently.

"Sssssuccesssss! Mine at lassssst! Now no one can ssstop m-...!!"

The Blood Elf's scream of victory was cut short as several small Gnomes rushed in her direction, headbutting her off the pillar. Down, down into the lava below...

It was at this moment that the sea grew particularly violent, hurling a dreaming pirate from her hammock. The sound of hooves and boots thundered towards her, stopping outside her door. A polite knock sounded before a hulking Tauren in well-used armour stomped inside, followed by a small Goblin.

"Sweetcheeks! We heard a noise! Are you all right?!" The Goblin dusted off the small pirate elf, looking for any signs of attack. Failing to find any, he removed his hat and scratched his head. ".. Fall out of bed?"

"OH MY GOD, YE' MISSED IT FLUMI! IT WAS GLOOOOOORIOUS! OUT-FECKIN'-STANDIN'! A TRINKET TO RULE 'EM ALL! I COULD'A BEEN A GOD!!! WHO'S STEERIN' THIS FELDAMNED PIECE O' SHIT? SOMEONE'S GONNA HURT! UGH, SO CLOSE!"

Muuhrat, the Tauren, grunted and covered his face with his palm before backing out. He'd be having words with whoever left the Whiskey storage unlocked again.

"I was some sorta' stealthy master, I swear! I was like a feckin' warpstalker ninja thing!"
