The Release

Post by Jehorius on Sat Mar 19, 2011 11:51 am

The sound of glass shattering filled the tower and Jezzek slowly opened his eyes, gazing over at his laboratory and quickly noticed that his imp was smashing vials with a spoon. He furrowed his eyebrows and folded his arms while staring at the rampaging Imp, who started cackling loudly as he was seen by his master. The Imp did a backflip and landed on the ground elegantly, grinning widely at Jezzek. 'Care to tell me -why- you are smashing my laboratory to pieces, Azkin?' Jezzek frowned and withdrew his arms from each other. 'Aah...heh... AH-HAH-HAH! You have gone soft, master! Your mind is not your own! It effects you in ways so that I may cause some trouble without being blasted to oblivion by you, master! AH-HAH-HAH-HAH-HAH!' Azkin started dancing around the table and attempted to bodyslam one of It's legs to smack it over, but to no use. The weight of the remaining laboratory forced to table to remain put. Azkin flew a couple of inches backwards and landed on his bum, rubbing it briefly while grinning up at Jezzek again. 'Heh-heh-heh... Master?' The Imp tilted his head, and obviously lost interest as Jezzek had turned back to stare out through a window, in deep thoughts. 'My mind is not my own...' he murmured repeatedly, as if searching for a solution, or proof of this. The Imp frowned deeply and jumped up onto the table and snatched another vial, or so he had planned at least - As he reached for the vial, he heard the roar of fire and was blasted by a firebolt - which caused a minor explosion in the laboratory.

Jezzek walked back and forth, he kept his head lowered and stared at the ground while his ponytail bounced from side to side as he turned and stomped forth again. 'My mind is not my own... My mind is not my own... What'd that wretched imp mean?' He sighed and walked towards his desk, he pulled a chair out and slumped down on it with a slight cough. His eyes fell upon all the books and parchments resting on the table, he leaned forth slightly and narrowed his eyebrows. He extended a hand and gripped a parchment and brought it back before his eyes, reading the sinister runes written on it. '...old gods have been whispering to the subconsciousness of mortal and eternal beings a like since the dawn of time...' it was as if a cauldron boiled over, the thought span around in his head - swirling in a vortex of madness. He flew up on his feet and threw the parchment away and moved towards the stairs of the tower, marching down to the ground floor.

He was breathing heavily as he stared upon the flat wall, he called upon the wicked shadow energies that he had mastered years ago and channeled them into the wall. The magic he kept channeling slowly turned into a solid door, made out of the blackest of wood. He gripped the handle and uttered the words 'Krazz dun mhadrakk!' and the door unlocked itself. He opened the door and took a step inside, closing it behind him. He clutched the fingers of his left hand and summoned a flame in it, allowing it to work as a lantern, as he walked down the long and tight passage. At the end of the stairs, another door was waiting. This one was reinforced with steel and covered in magical runes, even some common words were written upon it. He raised his arms and 'let go' of the flame, allowing it to hoover above him as a little sun spreading It's warmth and light. Two circles started forming around his hands, one was deep purple to the color and covered in tribal looking runes. The other was on the outside of the first, and pink to the color. The latter only seemed to be made out of raw arcane energies, threatening to burst out in chaos. His lips moved briefly, but no words were uttered as he attempted to unlock the door.

To his surprise, after two attempts, the door remained locked. He opened his eyes and narrowed them in annoyance. He turned again and walked twenty steps up the stairs again, and turned to face the door once more. He inhaled slowly through his nose and started building up new energies, this time they were flickering madly in a fel green color. His arms moved in wide patterns, as wide as the passage allowed. He bent and twisted the energies, slowly forming them into a giant ball of infernal felfire. He then shot it down towards the door with a scream of agony, all of his major blood veins expanded a great deal. After the ritual where he had imprisoned the void terror with Karkath and Jahi, his soul had been branded with felfire. The amount of energies he held onto caused all of his major blood veins to turn black, and each time that he tried to channel fel magic he'd feel strong pain pulsating from his expanding blood veins. He knew his soul still had to recover from the damage, but this was the only way he'd be able to open the door. As the ball of felfire clashed with the door, a minor crater was created underground and the ground vibrated from the impact of the spell. Jezzek was quick to create a barrier between himself and the incoming fire from the impact, he was panting heavily in pain as his blood veins slowly shrunk again.

He leaned against the wall and catched his breath, his knees nearly giving in due to the pain. He didn't mind it, but his body still reacted to it. He took a deep breath and stood up straight again, he dissipated the magical barrier and then walked down toward the crater where the door had been before. He jumped down into the crater and then climbed up on the other side. He gazed down at 'his' ritual chamber and frowned, as the decaying corpses of five women still could be found on the ground, shackled by heavy, saronite chains. The stench inside of the room was unbearable for most, but It didn't seem to cause Jezzek any problems. He frowned at It's stench, but that was also all. He flicked his hands toward four braziers - which was set ablaze and lit the room up. He moved to the center of the pentagram and glanced down at the ground, this is the exact same spot where he stood when he threw the curse 'over' Stormwind. The pentagram was still glowing in a pitch black color, the purple energies inside of it had calmed down. They span around inside the seal peacefully, and Jezzek frowned slightly. He knew that he had trapped the souls of five innocent women here, he didn't regret it for one second. As those souls, and the power behind the seal would grant him peace, and release.

He moved from the pentagram, over to a side-room where he removed all of his clothes slowly. Some of his wounds still needed to heal entirely, but he couldn't miss this opportunity. He picked up a dagger and slit his wrist, allowing the blood to drip down into a bowl. He tensed his jawmuscles as he 'milked' his arm. As the bowl was filled to the half with his own blood, he caressed the slit wrist twice, with three fingers while murmuring silently in common. The wound slowly closed, and cracked slightly while doing so. His right eyebrow twitched during the process, as it hurt quite a bit. He then started painting his entire body with magical runes, demonic runes and phrases in different languages and as his entire body was covered in his own blood - he moved out towards the center of the pentagram again. He lowered his hands into the black seal and 'gripped' them with his hands. Shadow energies built up in his hands and it didn't take long, before he actually had gripped the seal physically. He took a deep breath and started chanting loudly in a forgotten tongue, rune after rune lit up in both purple, green and blue on his body. The seal started swirling around in chaos again, and Jezzek with it. His booming voice filled the ritual chamber and echoed up the passage which lead down to it, runes started changing places on his body and a soul was released from the seal with a loud shriek in anger, agony and sorrow. The soul desperately flew towards Jezzek and clashed with his chest, penetrating his body. He pulled a deep breath in panic, and continued to chant his evocations. His hands caught fire, black to the color as the seal slowly was decreasing in both strength and size. Another soul was released, the same shriek could be heard as it penetrated Jezzek's chest aswell. He joined in, he couldn't bare the pain caused to him by executing this ritual. He didn't even know if he would perish or not, the last three souls released themselves as the seal crumbled and was no more. Jezzek had by this time, been raised up in the air. A chilling wind swept through the room and extinguished the braziers - leaving Jezzeks burning body as the only source of light within the ritual chambers. Even though barely, the three souls could be seen as dim lights, swirling around Jezzeks body in a speed faster than the eye could comprehend. Suddenly they stopped, merged with each other and penetrated his chest as well. This sent him flying towards one of the walls in the chamber, a sickening crack filled the room as he hit the wall and then sunk down in a pile on the ground.

'...Demons... they refuse to let you go... your mind is not your own... severe the tentacles... free your mind... live a life of your own...' The image of an unspeakable horror flashed through his mind, he was laying underneath it, shaking in terror. With a scream he woke up and felt an incredible pain coming from his stomach, it kept building up and in the end became unbearable. He screamed, and started choking as something was forcing It's way out of him. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he couldn't breath, the tip of a tentacle forced It's way out of his mouth. He gripped it and started pulling on it, all while choking. He pressed his eyes shut and gripped the tenatacle with his other hand aswell, attempting to rip it out of his throat. At first it held back, clinging to his inside - but in the end, it gave up and was torn from his throat. He pulled a deep breath and hurled the tentacle further into the room, then crawled up on his feet. His body was shaking due to the pain that kept lingering, the braziers lit up the room again. At the far end of the room, near the passage leading up to his tower - a silhuette could be seen. A bulky figure with two dark eyes glaring at him from the darkness of the passage. Two tentacles worked as It's arms and another one could be found as It's face. Jezzek knew what kind of being this was, this was a faceless one. Had he been corrupted and driven mad by THIS? He didn't believe his eyes, did it take him this many years to figure out the truth? That he was being used as a minion? Perhaps he simply denied it, or couldn't bring the thought to life due to the festering corruption he had suffered from. A voice was heard inside of his mind 'Jezzek Duncreigh, a loyal servant of the black goat with seven eyes... You... will... be... alone... in... the... end...' and with these words, the silhuette withered infront of him. He didn't know why, or where it had gone. What is 'the black goat with seven eyes?' He didn't know, and it worried him. But at the same time, he didn't care. He was free from their grasp, his mind was his own.

(( The Seal that was created when Jezzek, Karkath and Jahi 'cursed' Stormwind is no more, Indeed. I couldn't simply ignore such a thing, thus this served as a good way of getting rid of it. Which means, that there's no reason for people to have nightmares every night in Stormwind anymore. (Those who agreed to RP along with it, that is). I hope the story itself is enjoyable to some, I was quite happy with it. I posted it in the IC section, as it all happened IC. But any mod/admin is more than free to move it, if it was wrong of me to do so. I apologize beforehand, if that's the case. ))

Nice story. I especially liked the part about the imp and the ending. It's also interesting how creative you are when it comes to demonology and rituals etc. Keep it up.

Heh, thanks. Very Happy I play quite a lot of pen&paper (Dungeon and Dragons and the like, if you will). Usually as the dungeon master, so I have to remain creative. Razz
